Overview
Copan: Copan Ruins Archaeological Park, Underground Tunnels, Sculptural Museum, Ceramic Museum and Colonial Town.
Lake Yojoa: Overview of Santa Barbara agricultural area, Boat Ride at Lake Yojoa and Pulhapanzak Waterfalls.
Comayagua: Colonial Town, Museum of Colonial Art, Convents and Religious Monuments.
Tegucigalpa: City Tour, Basilica of Suyapa, El Picacho Mirador, Valle de Angeles Colonial Market Town, Santa Lucia Colonial Town.
San Pedro Sula: City Tour, Arts & Crafts Market, Historical Museum, Banana Plantation & Packing Factory.
Day 1: San Pedro Sula - Copan Upon arrival, you will be greeted at the San Pedro Sula International Airport and transferred to Copan Ruins through the scenic landscape of Honduras' western territory - 2.5 hours drive. As you arrive, you will have the first glimpse of the colonial town of Copan Ruins and you will check-in to your hotel. Overnight.
Day 2: Copan Archaeological Park (Underground Tunnels and Sculptural Museum) Morning departure to the Main Archaeological Park where our tour guide will lead you through this historical site. The relief in the carvings and hieroglyphicinscriptions have made Copan one of the most important centers of Maya studies.This is where history was carved in stone. The underground tunnels, Los Jaguares and Rosalila, lead you to one of Copan's most important temples, Rosalila. You will see a full replica of the temple at the Sculptural Museum. Optional twilight visit to Macaw Mountain Bird Park.Overnight.
Day 3: Copan - Lake Yojoa & Pulhapanzak Waterfalls You will be transferred to Lake Yojoa via Santa Barbara colonial town. On the way you will stop for a brief walk around the main square and visit the main Cathedral.The traditional arts and crafts of the Santabarbarenses are a unique product of Honduras that you will be able to distinguish along the road. Also, along the road, you will appreciate the beauty of the Lake. You will check-in to your hotel and will visit one of the highlights of this region, the Pulhapanzak Waterfalls, a natural enchantment. You will be able to enjoy the hotel's magnificent location for a relaxing time. Overnight.
Day 4: Lake Yojoa - Comayagua - Tegucigalpa For those interested in a bird watching experience, there are prime locations in the hotel to admire the great variety of water bird; our tour guide will gladly show you around. This morning you will stop at the first colonial capital established in Central America, Comayagua. Here, you will learn about the famous "conquistadores". You will continue to the capital of Honduras, Tegucigalpa, which means "the silvermountain". Overnight.
Day 5: Tegucigalpa & Valle de Angeles You will leave on a morning scenic ride with spectacular views of Tegucigalpa and surroundings. The first stop will be in the colonial town of Santa Lucia, once an important home station for miners. Cobblestone streets and Spanish homes with a great variety of local flowers decorate this magnificent place. You will continue to Valle de Angeles which is considered the epicenter of southern Honduran arts and crafts. You will spend time walking through different streets and exploring the market area. Overnight.
Day 6: Tegucigalpa - San Pedro Sula You will tour the city of Tegucigalpa which includes a visit to the most important political and commercial areas of the city. You will stop at the Basilica of Suyapa,which is a very important religious monument in the country. You will enjoy spectacular views from El Picacho Mirador and you will walk through the narrow streets of downtown Tegucigalpa and its main square. In the afternoon, you will depart by land to San Pedro Sula. On the way, you will be able to stop in Siguatepeque colonial village, and will also have a wonderful view of Lake Yojoa. As you arrive, you will have the first glimpse of the industrial capital of San Pedro Sula. Overnight.
Day 7: San Pedro Sula Today you will see the most important commercial and residential areas of the city.You will visit the historical museum with its wonderful collection of pre-Columbian ceramics. You will stop at the Arts & Crafts Guamilito Market where you will be able to appreciate some of the country's nicest crafts. You will be given a lunch break and then you will head to the Banana Plantation and Packing Factory.Overnight.
Day 8: San Pedro Sula - Airport You will be transferred to the San Pedro Sula Airport to take your international flight.
End of Program.
