Salvador - Morro de Sao Paulo- Valença - Cachoeira- Mangue Seco - Penedo-Maceió
DAY 1: Salvador - Morro de Sao Paulo
Pick up on your hotel and half day historical city tour with focus on the city sites related to the colonial Brazil, and
Afro-Brazilian history. Then, transfer to Salvador Pier. Catamara boat to Morro de Sao Paulo, Tinharé island. Upon arrival, assistance with bilingual guide and walking transfer to hotel.
DAY 2: Morro de Sao Paulo
Day at leisure.Overnight.
DAY 3: Morro de Sao Paulo - Valença - Cachoeira
After breakfast, walking transfer to píer, and 15min speed boat transfer to Valença. Meet driver guide and transfertour
to Cachoeira, visiting on the way cities surrounded by Atlantic forest and mangroves: Nazaré das Farinhas city, with its colonial Brazil architecture and history on large production of manioc flour; and Maragojipe, with the old fashion fishing boats used for transporting goods to the cities around the Bay. Upon arrival in Cachoeira, walking city tour, including a visit to an old fashion cigar factory. Overnight at Convent Pousada.
DAY 4: Cachoeira - Mangue Seco
Leave Cachoeira and hit the road towards Mangue Seco, with a stop at Praia do Forte fishing Village for visiting Tamar (Sea Turtle conservation Project) and the village itself. We stop for lunch at a local rustic restaurant for typical bahian cuisine - Restaurante da Mangueira. Lunch included. Proceed on a 2 hours transfer to Pontal village, and 20min speed boat to Mangue Seco. Check into pousada Asa Branca or similar. Overnight.
DAY 5: Mangue Seco - Penedo (Alagoas State)
Optional em Mangue Seco: Buggy ride tour in the dunes of Mangue Seco U$38.00.Speed boat transfer to Pontal. Tranfer with driver guide to the old town of Penedo. On the way, we stop to visit Sao
Cristovao (a baroque city, fourty oldest Brazilian city - National historical heritage). Walking tour. We continue by car towards Sao Francisco River, taking the ferry boat to cross the river and get in Penedo city. Check into Colonial Pousada or similar.
DAY 6: Penedo - Maceió
Walking historical tour around the city. You may opt to go on a 4 hours tour to estuary of the Sao Francisco River,with its golden dunes and tropical beaches.(U$49.00) Then, transfer to Maceio taking the green coast road on the Alagoas state. We make a stop at Cururipe and Barra de Sao Miguel, and take a short time for apreciating the view
and the local beach. Upon arrival in Maceió, drop off at your hotel.
