In Argentina there is a wide freedom of religion guaranteed by Article 14 of the Constitution, although the state recognizes a prominent character in the Catholic Church, which has a different legal status with respect to the other churches and confessions, according to the Constitution Argentina (Article 2), the National Government should support it and according to the Civil Code is legally comparable to a corporation under public law not state law. It is, however, a differentiated regime that does not carry as its official religion Republica.213 Vatican and Argentina have signed a concordat governing relations between the State and the Catholic Church. 88% of Argentines have been baptized as catolicos.214 215 However, the proportion of the country considered practitioner is between 69% and 78%, of which a quarter never attend church. 216 12% of the population is evangelism, 12% is considered agnostic, 4% is considered an atheist, 1.5% are Muslim and 1% is Jewish.
